This position is located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.  As a Logistics Management Specialist in this position, you will be responsible for performing logistics management operations required to support a weapons system, subsystem, equipment or other designated program. This position is responsible for the coordination and integration of numerous activities and functions into an overall efficient and effective support effort.  You will be providing technical leadership and planning of a designated area of logistics.

As a Logistics Management Specialist, your duties may include but are not limited to:

·         Providing technical leadership and planning of sponsor Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) projects and for analysis of potential research and development efforts.

·         Developing and recommending ILS planning and supportability requirements and coordinating the preparation of applicable logistics documents for life cycle support issues.

·         Evaluating the effect of program changes on reliability and logistics support elements.

·         Providing leadership and planning for ILS efforts supporting each acquisition phase of the program.

·         Performing analysis to determine the most cost effective support strategy.

REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
