Interns analyze and review materials on venture capital/private equity fund proposals; design and modify financial models; prepare written reports on current funds; research new financial structures and investment vehicles; and perform due diligence on proposed funds.
Strategic research project focusing on the following within the realm of emerging markets private equity: (i) private equity in emerging markets, including performance of funds and market trends in specific regions and countries; (ii) top-down and bottom-up market research and analysis of frontier markets and sectors attractive for private equity investment; (iii) analysis of OPIC’s private equity portfolio; and (iv) assessment of investment strategies. Project will culminate in a quality PowerPoint presentation and other written output, incorporating intern’s recommendations. Intern is expected to take initiative and play a substantive role in defining the parameters of research. Assistance with research and analysis regarding the upcoming OPIC General Call for Proposals, which will seek investment proposals from private equity funds throughout the emerging markets where OPIC operates. Potentially other tasks, including financial modeling.

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment (at least half-time) in a relevant college degree program (diploma, certificate, etc.) either at the graduate or undergraduate level at the time the internship would be served. Full-time enrollment is required when positions are paid.
