This position is located in Central Operations, Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA), Office of the Secretary (OS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Cleveland, Ohio.

Review ALJ hearing requests to identify all data elements necessary to establish individual case records in the electronic case management systems.

Verify that ALJ hearing requests comply with applicable procedural requirements.

Capture and categorize all relevant administrative data from the ALJ hearing requests.

Establish, modify, and maintain Administrative Law Judge appeals in the agency's electronic case management system and related data bases.

Locate, extract, and arrange information from the case management system and other case records.

Identify correspondence not related to hearing request and triage to appropriate staff for action.

Edit and correct all case management system information to assure internal completeness and consistency with procedures.

Prepare labels, barcodes, workload manifests and other case management tools in order to establish and maintain records.

Scan and fax appeal documentation in order to establish and maintain records.

Exhibit the administrative record to include all materials received in the case file.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level.  Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing legal documents for correct form, required information and timeliness; creating and modifying electronic records in a case management system; establishing, organizing and maintaining case files; using an electronic database to obtain and/or verify information; and using office automation products to establish and maintain records.


Conditions of Employment:
