If a New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJANG.
If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician in the the New Jersey Air National Guard

Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION: MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: To obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this position requires a minimum ASVAB Score of 47 in the Mechanical Area. ASVAB scores will not be required to apply for the position, however applicant must obtsain required ASVAB scores prior to acceptance of the position. The applicant must verify their scores with their Military Personnel Flight/ Military Persersonnel Office.

SELECTING OFFICIAL: MSGT Anthony Steele, Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor
The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position: A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.
Performs all phases of the repair and reclamation process
for crashed or damaged aircraft utilizing lifting bags, cranes, hoists, slings,
forklifts, and other heavy equipment. Serves on the flight control team and may
coordinate team functions. Advises on and participates in the removal, rigging,
and replacement of flight control surfaces, portable huffet and lavatory units.
Accomplishes organizational and intermediate level maintenance, which involves major
repairs, TCTO's, and/or flight controls, landing years. doors and canopies and associated
equipment requiring structural or component maintenance beyond the capabilities
of other activities. Performs intermediate level maintenance on aircraft wheel and tires and may also
accomplish organizational maintenance such as wheel and tire and brake changes.
