These positions are located with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Silver Spring, Maryland area.  Additional selections may be made from this announcement.

This announcement may be used by all Centers within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to fill multiple positions.

If selected for this position, you will:

Develop and interpret health program policies relative to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) programs such as nursing home surveys, quality of care studies, coverage, eligibility, and payment issues and the assessment of new medical technologies;

Provide recommendations regarding health issues on matters of importance, reflecting clinical services.

Conduct analytical studies and evaluate the effectiveness of policies by gathering, organizing, and interpreting clinical data;

Research background information, the origin of laws, and the intended impact in order to effectively interpret health care policies and provide recommendations and guidance for recovery of overpayments, program abuse, and potential fraud cases;

Apply various implications of enforcing program requirements and/or policies and utilize clinical judgment skills to determine the viability and feasibility of large-scale recovery audits; and

Collaborate with various HHS components and audit, claims processing, medical review, and appeals contractors to ensure consistent and accurate implementation of program policy.
