Duties

As a General Engineer, you will:

GS-7

  • Perform segments of industry analysis projects using standard techniques
  • Participate in evaluations of impacts of new technologies, systems and policies.
  • Compile, organizes and analyses financial, market, production, supply and distribution of data.
  • Participate in planning, designing and refinements and conducting tests to obtain and validate data.
GS-9
  • Perform segments of engineering analyses projects or units of special research projects or planning and evaluation studies of continuing and future distribution requirements and projection capabilities.
  • Prepare study plans for assigned studies.
  • Evaluate production capabilities of different producers, recommend changes needed in production and storage facilities and/or new facilities necessary to meet projected requirements.

  • Perform professional engineering work relative to planning and evaluating studies of continuing and future distribution requirements and product and capabilities.
  • Evaluate production capabilities of different producers and recommend changes needed in production and storage facilities and/or new facilities necessary to meet projected requirements.
  • Develop recommendations to foster more efficient production and distribution systems reflective of new and emerging technologies, and consistent with sound economic and environmental practices.
GS-12
  • Perform planning and evaluation studies of continuing and future distribution requirements and production capabilities.
  • Prepare study plans for assigned studies by establishing criteria, formulating projects or investigating unusual problems.
  • Develop recommendations to foster more efficient production and distribution systems reflective of new and emerging technologies, and consistent with sound economic and environmental practices.
  • Document the effects of Government policies and private sector practices on current and future production and supply.
