For the GS-13 level: Candidates must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Experience includes a variety of duties including, but not limited to, applying principles and regulation to park management and development, and land and resource management and planning; programming, planning and tracking complex budgets and financial management programs; managing a comprehensive and diverse human resources program including managing and maintaining a comprehensive Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and diversity program; and fostering effective partnerships.

Appointment will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation. Under the requirements of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), all new Federal Employees must pass a background investigation. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
New employees of the Department of the Interior must identify a financial institution for direct deposit of net pay within 30 days of entrance on duty.
NPS uniformed position. Employee will be required to wear a uniform and comply with National Park Service uniform standards.
Applicants must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license or District of Columbia driver's license.
