This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Services (OIS), Consumer Information & Insurance Systems Group (CIISG), Columbia, MD.

 

TOUR OF DUTY: 8 hour shifts, rotational weekends and hoildays, 80 hours/pay period.

Shifts available: 8:00am - 4:30pm, 4:30pm-12:30am, 12:00am-8:30am

Working in the Exchange Operations Center (XOC) you will serve as a IT Specialist in rotational shifts to facilitate real-time mission critical collaboration to triage and address issues in rapid fire fashion. The XOC is a 24 hours, 7 days a week proactive monitoring center for all Marketplace applications and IT infrastructure and network performance. Specifically you will:

 

Implement awareness of enterprise-wide HHS information technology (IT) security and/or system development life-cycle (SDLC) policies and standards.

Develop and execute strategies for developing system development quality assurance (QA) program management office.

Draft and issue policies and related standards in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and other other applicable Federal government requirements, guidance, and directives.

Participate in classified briefings concerning information systems security, up to the Secret level, including context specific to national security and regional threat information, site specific threats and classified methods used for information gathering and dissemination.

Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

In order to qualify at the 13, you must meet the following:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Government to include: providing technical guidance on IT security and/or system development life-cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures; developing IT security awareness programs; and monitoring IT security systems operations.
