APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:
Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.
MILITARY POSITION: Any unit in the New Jersey Army National Guard.

MAJOR DUTIES: Performs limited diagnosis, routine repairs
and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive
vehicles. Removes, replaces, adjusts,
cleans and installs parts and components such as wheel seals, switches,
sensors, fuel pumps, water pumps, power steering pumps, brakes, filters,
radiators, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motors,
mufflers, battery cables, and other items of similar complexity. Independently performs routine repairs and
maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing,
cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems
using standard parts. Conducts limited
readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported
by the activity.
