The purpose of this position is to perform preliminary (advance) planning and long term scheduling for the utilization and maintenance of all assigned aerospace vehicles, propulsion units/associated equipment and related support training equipment and to perform duties related to the documentation function.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  24 months of experience advising management/supervisors of maintenance capabilities, aircraft maintenance plans, schedules, procedures and policies to implement preliminary maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and the ability to accomplish work schedules that involve aerospace vehicles and related equipment through all phases of maintenance.  Experience assisting or maintaining workflow by identifying problem areas in work delays or stoppages, and schedule workflow in more than one area; and was responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities.  Experience, education or training which indicates you can reason in quantitative terms, can express yourself orally and in writing, and understand the terminology and data pertaining to the repair operations and processes characteristic of a production activity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA's): In the event there are more than 10 certified applicants, the following KSA's will be used to determine the best qualified applicants from which selection will be made.

1.   Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. 

2.   Ability to exercise considerable initiative in taking prompt action to prevent or alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials, or faulty work processes. 

3.   Knowledge of the organization and work procedures of the work production activity.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Completion of two full years of graduate education in production management, industrial management, or any other branch of engineering, is qualifying for a GS-09 position. Appropriate education and training such as in manpower development programs, military training programs or formal apprenticeship programs will be granted credit on a month for month basis.

 

Copies of OFFICIAL transcripts/certificates must be submitted with application to receive credit for education.

 

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
