The incumbent performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a team leader for single or small work activities.

Applies experience and advanced technical knowledge applicable to his/her discipline to accomplish assignments and to develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies. Understands how his/her technical area interacts with, or is affected by other disciplines, and considers the objectives of the major subdivision and LOB/Staff Office when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems. Typical assignment may include: system design and integration; rule making; investigation and inspection activities; compliance and enforcement actions; extensive research; and shared responsibility for project/program management.

All Applicants must demonstrate one year of Specialized Experience. To be creditable, Specialized Experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level grade level (FG/GS-12) or Band Level (H) in the Federal service. Specialized Experience may include, but is not limited to skills in project management, administration, implementation, integration, operations, and maintenance of telecommunications systems; experience with a variety of telecommunications applications ranging from IP Networks, TDM technology, fiber optics, microwave technology, telephone systems and PBX; FAA NAS knowledge is essential to understand the critical nature of the operations; Specific knowledge with FAA NAS systems such as FTI, FAVES, BWM, Radio Communication Link/Low Density RCL (RCL/LDRCL).

-Anchorage Alaska - ($75,814 - $117499; 24.69% locality pay rate. In addition, a 5.57% Cost-of-Living Allowance (COLA) is authorized. Locality & COLA are subject to change).

-Des Plains, Illinois ($76,063 - $117,885; 25.10% locality pay rate)

-Kansas City, MO - ($ 69,412 - $107576; 14.16% locality pay rate)

-Fort Worth, Texas - ($73,370 - $113,711; 20.67% locality rate)
