This position is located in the Office of Budget, Finance and Award Management (BFA), Division of Grants and Agreements (DGA). DGA activities include:
Providing assistance with the development of effective program announcements, solicitations and program descriptions; The development of appropriate and effective funding mechanisms for assistance awards of varying complexities; Ongoing post-award management and oversight, including financial and administrative business assistance and issue resolution; and Assistance regarding the development, implementation and ongoing assessment of all supporting business models and processes.
The Senior Grants Management Specialist serves as the Senior Staff Associate to the Division Director and Director of Operations, with the responsibility for providing staff support, management, advisory services, consultation and analysis of information processing and management programs conducted by the Division in the area of policy development, management of award systems, and financial and business oversight of NSF awardee institutions. Other duties include:
Provides expert management advice to the Division Director and Director of Operations on broad and complex award administration and systems issues within a wide range of NSF programs, and assesses consistency of programs within established award management goals and objectives.
Provides management oversight for activities throughout the Foundation affecting (or affected by) the broad range of DGA functions.
Provides expert staff assistance to the Division Director and Director of Operations, DGA, in such broad areas as award program development, communications, information technology, public affairs, financial management, and business process re-engineering.
Serves as expert and takes the lead in harmonizing proposal and award policies between NSF and the government-wide systems.
Performs a wide variety of analyses and studies using appropriate statistical methods and management analysis techniques to identify and evaluate sources of data, analyze the data, and prepare conclusions and recommendations.
