Duties

You will perform essential Information Technology tasks associated with day-to-day operation of the USAO IT systems.  These duties include a wide range of information technology support to meet USAO information needs utilizing network hardware and software capabilities.  

• Maintain network architecture and infrastructure.  Configures and maintains servers, routers, and switches
• Monitors Network capacity and performance
• Plans and schedules the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software, working closely with customers to insure seamless installation and minimize installation problems
• Implements policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems security policies
• Promotes security awareness among employees and management
• Monitors functionality, security, and integrity of internet services
• Institutes a rigorous content management plan to provide users with appropriate information in an effective manner
• Analyzes, defines and creates case database and litigation support specifications
• Installs, configures, and maintains litigation support equipment
• Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported incidents
• Provides for customer training including orientation for new users
• Assesses policy needs and develops policies to govern IT activities
• Identifies and addresses IT workforce planning and management issues, such as recruitment, retention and training

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
