MINNESOTA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD
This position is located in a Surface Maintenance Facility. Its purpose is to supervise workers through subordinate leaders in accomplishing work of the function.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED
This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible MOS in the Minnesota Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. **Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authority. Suitability is dependent upon the particular requirements for security clearance, sensitivity level, and DOD IT network access. Items checked include, but are not limited to all criminal history record information, employment history, education and fiscal accountability/responsibility.**
Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment,facilities, and materials. Establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Determines skills, materials,and equipment required to do the work. Assigned tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, state,and federal regulatory OSHA and environmental requirements. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
