Plans, supervises, assigns work, defines priorities, administers and carries out the work of the unit. Makes recommendations to the Fitness Director on ways or methods to improve quality and service. Selects and recommends applicants for hire, recommends pay adjustments/awards, provides or recommends training. Approves leave, directs on-the-job training. Directs the activities and operation of the sports facilities which include Morton Hall Gym, Racquetball center, Softball fields, soccer/football field, synthetic lane running track, tennis courts and other related recreational sites. Plans and coordinates recurring Intramural athletic activities that are designed to meet DOD and Navy Fitness Standards. Plans, coordinates, and offers structured pre-season sports fitness programs and weight lifting. Serves as the Base representative for the Sports Program, ensuring a cooperative relationship between the military and civilian community. Prepares annual appropriated and Non-appropriated fund budget requirements with supporting data for the overall sports program. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have minimum 4 year degree from an accredited college in general recreation, outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; community recreation, physical education or related degree OR experience that provides knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of recreation, and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups OR experience that demonstrates the ability to apply the principles of one or more specialty areas of recreation.
ALL positions requiring computer access in the performance of duties, applicants must be a US citizen and successfully pass SF-86/Eligibility for Secret Clearance upon hire and periodically thereafter.
OTHER CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid drivers license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
