·         Operate large dumpster truck in order to empty dumpsters and transport debris to refuse site or transfer station.

·         Operate straight-in-line trucks with gross vehicle weight of more than 14,400 (32,000 pounds), or operates truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers, and motor coaches.

·         Operate tractor trailer truck in order to transport equipment from one work site to another and to various points outside of the Air Station.

·         Maneuver vehicle within close tolerances when driving and backing over uneven ground and in narrow or congested areas, between building and other vehicles, between parked aircraft, and when positioning vehicles at loading docks.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.  Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:  Ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision such as: Operating straight inline trucks.

 

In addition to the screen-out element you will be evaluated on the following Job Elements through your resume and responses to the on-line assessment questionnaire:

2.    Work practices (including keeping things neat, clean, and in order,).

3.    Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (Related you mobile equipment operation.)

Selectee must possess and maintain:

A valid state driver’s license.

A Class A Commercial Driver’s license (CDL).

Any other station or DoD licenses or permits required for the type of vehicles operated.

**And maintain on-base driving privileges once obtained.

REQUIREMENTS:

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

 

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activity/command.

This is an essential position in Facilities Maintainence Department. Therefore, during destructive weather conditions such as, but not limited to, ice and snowstorms, high winds and hurricanes, the selectee may be required to report for duty. The selectee will also be subject to call back for work during off-duty hours when an emergency arises.

A pre-appointment physical examination is required.

 

Work requires lifting and moving heavy items.

Selectee may be required to work in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time.

Selectee will work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all types of weather in all types of traffic on public roads or the equivalent and is exposed to danger of serious accidents. Drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems. Selectee will be exposed to dirt and fumes and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of an accident while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle. The grounds maintenance duties will expose the employee to dirt, dust, fumes, cuts, bruises, burns, and the possibility of shock.
