JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

This position is located at the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center/Non-Appropriated Funds Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. A 5.57% Cost of Living Allowance is added to the annual salary.

Processes a wide variety of routine and complex personnel actions requiring an in-depth knowledge of NAF civilian
personnel rules and regulations. Provides advice and assistance to lower level employees on the preparation and processing of documents related to pay, compensation, benefits training, permanent change of station moves and/or other aspects of NAF employment. Receives and rates applications for employment. Prepares referrals and arranges for interviews at the request of management. Writes and posts job announcements. In-processes and out-processes employees, conducts orientations and interviews potential candidates for employment opportunities as
required. Ensures the maintenance of the automated personnel database. Establishes and maintains official folders, files and reports.

Progressively responsible work experience in personnel. Ability to communicate orally and deal effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to type and perform office automation functions.

Highly preferred candidates will have Human Resources work experience with the Federal Government. MUST BE INCLUDED ON RESUME. Highly preferred applicants will be referred first to the selecting official. 


 

Conditions of employment:

1. A one-year probationary period may be required.

2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.

3. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification check. 

4. Successfully complete all required background checks.
