This position is being filled under the Pathways Recent Graduates Program located in The Department of Veterans, Technology Acquisitions Center (TAC), Office of Acquisition Operations (OAO) Eatontown, NJ United States.
Who May Apply: Recent graduates eligible only.
Applicants must be recent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution. Veterans (as defined in 5 USC 2108) who, due to military service obligation, were precluded from applying to the Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period described above have a full 2-year period of eligibility upon their release or discharge from active duty; however, this eligibility period cannot extend beyond 6 years from the date of completion of the requirements of an academic course of study. Throughout the program, selectees will participate in job assignments to develop competencies and to enhance their academic career goals. After successful completion of the program requirements, the individual may, at the agency's discretion, be converted to a term or permanent appointment. As a Recent Graduate Electronics Engineer in the Acquisition Rapid Response Office (ARRO) of the Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) you will be provided with a unique learning opportunity which will enable you to add to the knowledge that you gained from your college education by performing a variety of developmental duties in support of the overall work of the TAC.
Gathers and reviews a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare reports.
Conducts analyses of date to support conclusions or recommendations for action.
Reviews engineering regulations or policies applicable to assignments to determine
Works closely with higher graded engineers on determining customer requirements for IT systems, services, software or hardware.
This position is developmental in nature, leading to the target grade of GS-12. GS-12 duties include:
Conducts analysis for optimum approaches to meet the user requirements for IT
equipment, systems, hardware, software and services for assigned programs/projects.
Analyzes engineering change proposals, deviations and waivers as to their necessity, feasibility and adequacy for meeting schedules.
Serves as a technical advisor and focal point for assigned contracts/programs involving mission critical computer engineering information technology resources.
Reviews and evaluates the contractors systems, policies, procedures, activities and products used in the development process.
