The Economic Research Service is seeking qualified students to participate in the 2014 Summer Pathways Internship Program. These temporary, excepted service appointments are expected to begin in May and end in September. Internships are open to individuals who have been accepted for enrollment or who are enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) from a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis.
Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid.

Interns who are assigned to a GS-2299, Student Trainee (Information Technology) position perform duties to orient the employee to the organizations mission and function, and policies. Receives training in the areas and assists with:
- Uses personal computer, software, and related equipment to create a variety of basic reports and databases.
- Receives and enters calls into the automated call logging system and monitors call logs or timely resolution of calls.
- Receives and sorts a variety of data for input into reports or database format.
- Assists in miscellaneous office duties, (i.e. filing, typing, answering phones, etc.) as necessary.
