This position is being filled under the Pathways Internship Program. The Pathways Program allows students to gain paid work experience while pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate at a qualifying educational institution. At the Agency’s option, students hired under the Pathways Program may be extended beyond 09/30/2014 or non-competitively converted to a term, career, or career-conditional appointment. Under the Pathways Program, students who successfully complete all work, study, qualifications, and other eligibility requirements may be offered permanent positions with our Agency upon graduation. EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

In this position, you will provide routine general clerical support to the organization for which you are assigned. Typical assignments include:
- Performing clerical support work by applying procedures and practices within established guidelines
- Typing reports, maintaining files, arranging meetings and preparing travel requests and vouchers
- Conducting research concerning the interpretation of a variety of rules and regulations
- Receiving and directing telephone calls and visitors
- Establishing, updating, and maintaining office records
