This position is located at CHILD, ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM, FAMILY CARE PROGRAMS BRANCH, MARINE AND FAMILY PROGRAMS DIVISION. Candidates selected for this position will serve as an CHILD, ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM ASSISTANT for MCCS.
This position provides assistance in most aspects of the USDA/Child, Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in Child Development Centers (CDC), Family Child Care (FCC) Homes, and School-Age Care (SAC). Assists the CACFP coordinator to ensure policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed within the Child Development Centers, School Age Care Program and Family Child Care Homes. Organizes flow of operational program processes in an office environment. Assists in the collection, compilation and organization of information and data to meet USDA/CACFP and HQMC requirements. Uses a personal computer to, create reports, databases, and spreadsheets. Receives telephone calls from internal and external personnel and provides guidance to callers on questions related to the CACFP program. May perform support functions such as gathering statistical data; monitoring and reporting on support budgets.
Works cooperatively with all other Family Care Programs to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality options for all children and youth as pertaining to the USDA/CACFP. Participates in maintaining a cooperative relationship with state/regional USDA/CACFP office and keeps up to date with state regulations and requirements.
Assists in enrollment and participation among the CDC, SAC and FCC homes in the USDA/CACFP. Prepares and submits monthly claims for reimbursement to the program coordinator in a timely manner. Participates in implementation of training for FCC providers required to participate in the USDA/CACFP. Assists in the development of seasonal cycle menus for CDC and SAC and recommends menus for FCC providers. Assists coordinator in completing duties required by CACFP guidelines, to include but not limited to; Sponsoring Organization reviews, updating food analysis binders, monthly newsletters, review of meal preparation and milk audit, submitting food allergy and substitution lists to cooks. Provides assistance in maintaining data accuracy input into the CYMS system. Provides feedback to program manager on review results and discrepancies at CDC and SAC sites for accountability purpose and correction.
