To qualify for this position, you must possess the basic qualifying specialized experience and/or education listed below as well as required selective factors as described in the occupational/assessment questionnaire.
Applicants must meet the following basic qualifications:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service) Specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include performing a variety of support duties such as administrative functions, utilizing a variety of office automation software programs, communicating effectively both orally and in writing, reviewing a variety of work for conformance with established procedures, working experience in an office environment such as a Human Resource (HR)/Personnel office, assisting employees by providing information/forms and by answering their questions, composing and editing letters and other correspondence, and entering data into an automated system, including protecting sensitive data in compliance with privacy laws
OR Education: Successfully completed four full years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
OR a combination: An equivalent combination of education and experience are also qualifying. Completion of a percentage of the specialized experience and education listed above and when combined totals 100%.

SELECTIVE FACTOR: In addition to above basic qualifications, applicant: Must be able to type 40 words per minute. Words per minute are based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Applicant must self-certify in resume, and/or provide documentation (typing test).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work requires sitting at a desk, standing, bending, reaching, walking and lifting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed primarily in an office setting but may be performed out in the field.

The score, based on responses to the questionnaire, is a measure of the degree to which an applicant's background matches the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position. Category based rating will be used for this vacancy.
Category rating combines the applicant's total qualifying experience and education/training into a single category. If you meet the basic qualification requirements, your responses to the Occupational Questionnaire will be used to determine the quality of your experience, education, training etc. for placement in one of the following categories, 1) Best Qualified = 95 or above, 2) Well Qualified = 85 to 94, 3) and Minimally Qualified = below 85. This evaluation determines which candidates will be referred to the selecting official for final consideration.
Best Qualified, applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position.
Well Qualified, applicants possessing experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in most of the requirements of the job.
Minimally Qualified, applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all of the requirements of the job.
