NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the New York Army National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.  Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. 

This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters—State, Operations Directorate (J-3), Army National Guard (ARNG) Training Center, Range Operations .

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Range Operations Specialist with responsibility for coordinating range management programs involving live fire training activities, range safety, range maintenance, and range communications and operations.  Oversees and ensures the continued operation of the Range Control Operations and Communications Center.  Assumes the duties of the Range Control Officer in the absence of the incumbent.
