The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

MAJOR DUTIES:  Serves as an instructor/evaluator. Provides direct assistance to the aircraft pilot:  Performs crew compartment duties and regularly instructs/evaluates other enlisted air crew members on duties performed during takeoffs, landings, and other critical phases of flight.  Performs Aerial Refueling Technician duties. Performs aerial refueling duties on specialized, classified, and high intensity missions requiring expert knowledge and operational skills.  Accomplishes load master functions.  Prior to flight, accomplishes preflight checks, inspection, acceptance, and operation of all aircraft loading equipment, and systems.  Performs staff duties based on specialized knowledge of the unit’s mission and related programs to ensure safe and successful accomplishment of required training and Air Force mission support requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF A CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

GS-9 must provide Aerial Refueler Technician Certificate: Applicants must have completed and provide copies of Certificate of Completion of KC-135 Boom Operator Initial Qualification Course with their application

 

GS-10 must provide Aerial Refueler Technician Instructor Certificate: Applicants must have completed and provide copies of Certificate of Completion of Combat Flight Instructor Course School with their application.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Experience which has provided a general knowledge of aircraft fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.

 

Please address the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) in your resume:  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 

GS-08 must have 18 months of experience which demonstrates knowledge of inflight refueling systems, cargo loading procedures and inflight passenger management. 

 

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems applicable to the inflight refueling operation

KNOWLEDGE of weight and balance factors, and the procedures and operations required for cargo transport.

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems.

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft navigational equipment operating procedures.

 

GS-09 Must have 24 months of experience which demonstrated knowledge of inflight refueling systems, cargo loading procedures and inflight passenger management.

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems applicable to the inflight refueling operation

KNOWLEDGE of weight and balance factors, and the procedures and operation required for cargo transport

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems

KNNOWLEDGE of aircraft navigation equipment operating procedures

KNOWLEDGE of most or all primary systems critical to the performance of the aircraft and involving the complete range of flight operations and procedures.

 

GS-10 must have 30 months of experience which demonstrate knowledge of inflight refueling systems, cargo loading procedures and inflight passenger management.

KNOWLEDGE of weight and balance factors and the procedures and operations required for cargo transport.

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft navigational equipment operating procedures.

SKILL involving and complete range of in flight refueling operations and procedures

ABILITY to instruct aerial refueling technicians and evaluate the performance of assigned air crew.

This position requires a Secret Security Clearance. If applicant is not a member of the Air Force, Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserves, they must provide military documentation to prove they hold at least a Secret Clearance.
