About the Agency

Position is being advertised concurrently under BR-PN-VA-GC-14-140 for current federal employees serving under a competitive service career or career-conditional appointment or reinstatement eligible. Assist the immediate supervisor and craft supervisors in accomplishment of work through use of a computerized maintenance management system (MAXIMO). Review work requests/work orders entered to assure that work plans, equipment, cost authorities and other information are correct. Monitor Preventative Maintenance (PM) work order systems to assure that all required PMs are printed as scheduled and referred as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned such as inputting time and attendance, using a bank card for purchases, and reconciling statements and other office support functions.

Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements.

 

For the GS-6 level, one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Such experience must demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance management work. Examples include relevant computer-related experience that included running queries, devising spreadsheets, manipulating data into reports, statistics, etc. in order to track work progress of an office.

For the GS-7 level, one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 in federal service. Such experience must include familiarity with and demonstrated ability to perform maintenance management work such as assisting with creating work orders and scheduling maintenance/construction projects.

For the GS-8 level, one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 in federal service. Such experience must include regular and recurring experience using an automated maintenance management software program that involved creating work orders and scheduling maintenance/constructions projects for a power generating plant or equivalent industrial, commercial or military facility. Experience must also include skill in using an automated time keeping system and using a bank/credit card program.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement. If you meet the basic qualification requirements, your on-line responses to the vacancy assessment questionnaire will be used to determine the quality and extent of your experience, education, training, etc., for placement in one of the following categories: 1) Best Qualified, 2) Well Qualified, and 3) Qualified. Qualified candidates will be assigned a numerical score on a scale of 70-100 and veterans with preference will be placed at the top of their respective category. The assessment questionnaire will take you approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Applicants will be further evaluated on the following "Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)" through your resume and responses to the online questions.

1.  Ability to prepare maintenance schedules, work requests and computer generated reports.

2.  Skill in using various computer hardware and software programs.

3.  Ability to communicate orally and in writing to accomplish work assignments.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
