About the Agency

Want to work for a contemporary water management agency whose mission is to assist in meeting the increasing water demands of the West while protecting the environment and the public's investment? Join the staff of the Bureau of Reclamation as a Student Trainee. This is a student internship opportunity under the Pathways Program. The major objective of the Pathways Program is to employ students, giving them a chance to work in a Federal agency and resume or continue their education without interruption caused by financial pressure. Students appointed may work part-time while school is in session and full-time (depending upon the needs of the agency) when students are on a vacation period or whenever the school is officially closed.

This is a temporary Student Internship opportunity under the Pathways Program.

Brief Description of Duties: Performs a variety of administrative assignments in support of the Human Resources Office.

GS-03: Prepares correspondence using a personal computer or typewriter; mails correspondence and sets up working files. Uses the scanner to upload documents into electronic employee personnel folders. Shreds documents for the office.

GS-04: Assists higher graded clerks in routine, day‑to‑day processing. Establishes and/or maintains files. Screens visitors and callers. Based on the reason for the visit or call, refers those who require personal attention to appropriate staff member.

Applicants must meet the Basic Education Qualification Requirements listed below:

GS-3: Completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study.
An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.

GS-4: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study.
Two academic years of undergraduate education is defined as 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university
