This position is located in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Pesticide Programs, Pesticide Re-evaluation Division in Arlington, VA.
These positions may be filled in three of the five Risk Management and Implementation Branches.

At the entry level of this position, you will:
-Provide assistance in the evaluation of project-specific statutory deadlines associated with pesticide re-evaluation projects under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
-Respond to information requests from registrants, other Federal agencies, pesticide users, and the general public with respect to programmatic actions and/or goals.
-Provide case management assistance for the pesticide re-evaluation process. Participate in the coordination of scheduling and preparation of necessary team meetings for the purpose of re-evaluating pesticide review cases.
When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as providing assistance to higher level staff members by researching, summarizing, and analyzing environmental protection issues; or performing reviews of pesticide registrant submissions while providing recommendations and solutions based on regulatory policies to any issues that may arise - OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Skill in using standard data gathering and analysis techniques to collect technical information on environmental activities; 2) Skill in oral communication; 3) Ability to manage the review process for pesticide reregistration; and 4) Skill in written communication sufficient to develop dockets for the review of pesticide registration cases.
If you are selected, you must complete a one year trial period.
If you are selected, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Form prior to your first day of employment and annually thereafter.
This position is designated as Low Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
