Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
As a Test Administrator, you will administer tests to individuals wishing to enter the military. This position is located in Fairbanks, AK. 


This position does not provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis".

  • Incumbent will be paid only for the hours worked
  • This position will NOT lead to a full-time position.
  • Intermittent employees are not eligible for benefits.
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid.
  • Travel is required to various testing sites, personally owned vehicles are required to be used, travel reimbursement is authorized.

Administers written tests in the local commuting area of this announcement and up to a 100 miles radius when necessary, using own vehicle to transport test material. Maintains security and inventory of test materials. Must reside within the local commuting area or travel to the commuting area at own expense.  Requires early morning travel and extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Some work may be performed from your residence prior to arriving at the test site.  Must be able to carry 1 to 5 cases of test materials each weighing an average of 10 to 35 pounds to and from examination locations.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of general experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. General experience is defined as: Progressively responsible for clerical or office work experience such as answering phones, greeting visitors, filing and operate office equipment.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.  For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:

Education experience: Must have completed two (2) full academic years of undergraduate level education beyond high school which equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. If you answered "Yes", to this question, you must submit transcripts with your application package OR

Combination of experience and education:  You must have a combination of undergraduate education and experience as described above. Compute the percentage of the requirements and the total must equal at least 100%. To determine your qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level, divide the total number of months of general experience you possess by 12. To determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level, divide your total number of semester hours by 60 or quarter hours by 90. Add the two percentages.
