The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13. The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is in the range of GS-11 to GS-13. The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidates education and experience and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed. The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.

SCHEDULE: M-F, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM. You may be required to provide service evenings and
weekends as needed.
Serves as a Geropsychologist at the Kerrville Division of the South
Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS). You will offer treatment in the
form of individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment, as
well as provide consultation to other members of the team.
Has limited clinical program management responsibilities, which may include
the operation and management of mental health programs within the STVHCS. May
be asked to serve as first line/direct supervisor for a few lower graded
Responsibility for and oversight of the administrative and programmatic
resources of various clinical programs that are specialized/complex and
significantly impact the delivery of health care service to veterans in the
Coordinates programming within the psychology program with managers of other
programs in mental health as well as with discipline supervisors of affected
staff assigned to these programs.
May assist in managing the work of mental health programs and their staff,
ensuring that work is assigned in a systematic way and meets facility and VA
Serves as the representative for Psychology Service on various Psychology
Service, Mental Health Service Line, System, or higher lever administrative
committees or work groups.

Provide a full range of neuropsychological diagnostic services including the
use of neuropsychological and psychological testing for patients within the
STVHCS in areas of special interest/expertise.
Performs neuropsychological screening and psychological evaluations for
individuals with mental health and medical disorders for purposes of diagnostic
clarification and treatment planning recommendations. These evaluations employ
a comprehensive diagnostic interview, review of available records, collateral
contact when available, as well as objective, and psychological tests when
Provides a range of psychological therapeutic interventions for individuals
with mental health and medical disorders using empirically supported modalities
Consults with and serves as a resource for other profession personnel
concerning the need for, evaluation of, and development of psychological
services in STVHCS.
May assist in the selection, training, and supervision of staff at lower grades
within assigned program area, Psychology Service or STVHCS.
