AREA I:  All Excepted Technicians of the 108th Wing (WG)

AREA II: All Excepted Technicians of the New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG)

AREA III:  All  Members of the New Jersey National Guard

AREA IV:  Any person eligible for membership into the Air National Guard (NJANG)

 

If a New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJANG.

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:

Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered.   Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank.   If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion.   Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only.   Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS:  Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the New Jersey National Guard in one of the following military specialty codes:

AFSC: 2AXXX

 

NOTE:  THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED HAS ONE YEAR TO OBTAIN ADVERTISED AFSC/MOS

 

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE/INVESTIGATION:  MUST HAVE A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.

 

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORSTo obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this position requires a minimum ASVAB Score of 47 in the Mechanical area. ASVAB scores will not be required to apply for the position, however applicants must obtain required ASVAB scores prior to acceptance of the position. The applicant must verify their scores with their Military Personnel Flight/Military Personnel Office

Duties

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

DUTIES:  Serves as the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for wing maintenance policy, advising supervisors and employees on both general policy and specific maintenance matters.  Maintenance Standardization Program (MSEP):  Administers, evaluates, and coordinates a comprehensive quality assurance, maintenance standardization, and inspection program for all areas of the maintenance organization, all maintenance disciplines, job series and Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs).  Utilizes data collection techniques and procedures for evaluation, inspection, and audit program, evaluates the results and determines the appropriate and effective method and format for presentation to higher level management.  Collaborates with the Maintenance Group Commander, Maintenance Group Commander, Maintenance Squadron Commanders, and Quality Assurance Supervisor to plan, develop, implement, inspect, and report numerous critical compliance issues and review the Configuration Management (CM) programs.  Serves as the Aircraft Weight and Balance program manager utilizing complex computer based programs, data bases, electronic weighing apparatus, and integrated weight and balance computers for the Wing to maintain strict accounting of aircraft weight and balance for safe flight operations.
