The primary responsibility of this position is to perform the statistical analysis of data from Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) multi-hospital cooperative clinical trials and epidemiologic studies coordinated by the Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center (CSPCC) at the VA Maryland Health Care Center (VAMHC), Perry Point, Maryland.  Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Serves as a statistical programming expert within the Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center as a member of a study team;

·         Serves as a statistical programming expert in the planning of assigned studies, working with the study planning and executive committees;

·         Collaborates with the biostatistician and the database management staff in the planning and design of study database management systems;

·         Assists the study team in the development and selection of study data collection instruments;

·         Designs, writes, tests and runs Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) programs, and , where appropriate, uses other commercial software packages;

·         Reviews output of statistical programs;

·         Documents procedures for each statistical programming job processed;

·         Assists the biostatistician in the preparation of interim and final statistical reports as well as preparing results for publication in scientific journals.

Work Schedule:  Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
