If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training. Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.
If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK: Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

MAJOR DUTIES: Knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, operation, installation and ability to perform adjustments on a variety of aircraft subsystems and assemblies. Thorough knowledge of operating electronic principles to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation, not only of individual circuit but also the interaction of other circuit. Knowledge of the sensitivity of the mission, as well as the major assemblies, systems, and surfaces and how they are designed to operate together. Ability to test functionality of equipment, troubleshoot the systems; determine if the system is operating properly or whether portions of the system must be repaired, replaced, aligned or adjusted. Skill in the care and use of hand and power tools used in aircraft work.
