About the Position:
This position is with the 63rd Regional Support Command, Reserve Processing Action Center Inland Empire, HUB, CA152 located in Riverside, California. This is a Temporary Position.
Riverside is named for its location beside the Santa Ana River, located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The city prides itself on its historic connection to the navel orange and is home to the one surviving Parent Navel Orange Tree, from which all American West Coast navel orange trees are descended. Riversides strong focus on higher education means that the city flourishes with youthful vitality, art, innovation, creativity and culture. With four institutions of higher learning, and nearly fifty thousand college students populating the city, Riverside breeds entrepreneurs, visionaries, free-thinkers and an overall vibe of ambitious energy. Riversides colleges and universities include University of California Riverside, California Baptist University, and La Sierra University. Other attractions in the area include the Fox Performing Arts Center, Riverside Metropolitan Museum, and the California Museum. Retail shopping centers include the open-air Riverside Plaza, the Galleria at Tyler regional mall, while Main Street downtown, is the site of a pedestrian mall with unique shops. Riverside's close proximity to Hollywood, combined with its many unique architectural features, has made it a frequent filming choice by Hollywood film studios.

The duties of this position include:
- Preparing correspondence and reports
- Providing technical advise
- Processing personnel or pay actions for Military
- Interpreting regulatory or procedural requirements
- Responding to soldiers regarding pay issues
- Training others on the use of automated systems
- Researching complex pay issues
- Advising Military on Pay regulations and entitlement

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: performing clerical or administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, filing and data entry; processing a variety of personnel or pay actions; and interpreting and/or applying regulatory or procedural requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service [GS-05].
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
- Skill in using automated systems
- Skill in written communication
- Skill in oral communication
- Ability to analyze data
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
