In this position you will serve as an Intern in The CMS Pathways – Summer Internship Program. You will assist professional and technical staff by performing a variety of health insurance related duties in support of the component objectives. Specifically you may:

-Assist senior Health Insurance Specialist conduct studies to evaluate health care policy;

-Assist in researching legislation’s impact on health insurance;

-Work in a team setting to assist with development and evaluation of Medicare and Medicaid programs.

To be eligible for the CMS Pathways - Summer Internship Program, an individual must have been accepted for enrollment or be enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution/program on a full or half-time basis for the upcoming FALL 2014 semester.

- AND - Possess and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on the unweighted 4.0 scale.


TRANSCRIPTS or other applicable education documents (e.g. acceptance letter) are required to verify program eligibility.

GS-4: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study OR an Associate's degree.
GS-5: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent degree.
GS-7: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education; OR eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision AND completion of a Bachelor’s degree.


TRANSCRIPTS are required to verify satisfactory completion of education as part of the qualification requirements. Unofficial transcripts must include the cumulative GPA from the Fall 2013 semester, and show Spring 2014 enrollment, if applicable.
