Note:  The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13.  The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is in the range of GS-11 to GS-13.  The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidate’s education and experience and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed.  The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.

The WJBD VAMC is seeking an outstanding psychologist to join our Outpatient Clinic within the Mental Health Service, located at Greenville South Carolina Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The successful candidate will diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities and provides adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. Among the evidenced based therapy modalities provided are individual, family, and group psychotherapies, and other interventions such as motivational interviewing, and recovery oriented services or environmental interventions. He/she will consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. He/she may also be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm (with flexibility as needed; The candidate may be requested to work 10-630PM one day/week and/or occasional Saturday mornings)
