Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) processing incoming alarms, emergency, and non-emergency calls for fire, medical, and police assistance; 2) dispatching personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies; 3) providing information and initiating directions to incoming callers over the telephone and a radio network; and 4) recording pertinent data, events, and logs. Successfully completed four full years of education above the high school level at an accredited college or university. (Note: See information under Education) OR
Have a combination of experience as described under letter A above and education as described under letter B above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement. The level of the course work must have been equivalent to at least the junior- and senior- year levels of a baccalaureate program.

This position is a full-time term appointment not to exceed 12 months. Term appointments may be extended up to 4 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. This position may be terminated at any time before the established not-to-exceed date.

This position is a Emergency-Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority.

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, usually accomplished while the employee is seated at a desk or table. Some walking or standing may be required in the course of a normal workday but no special physical effort or ability is required to perform the work. Incument may at times be required to endure stress during emergency calls.
Work Environment: Duties are performed in a Level II area which must remain secured at all times. The work involves everyday risks and discomforts associated with normal office work. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
