This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Director (OAD), Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR). The Directorate is the focal point for NSF as a lead federal agency providing funding for research and development in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. EHR is composed of the Division of Graduate Education, the Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings, the Division of Undergraduate Education, and the Division of Human Resource Development.
The Office of the Assistant Director (OAD), Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) is seeking a Communications Specialist to provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of an integrated communications program for EHR. Specific duties include the following: serves as the principal communications contact between EHR and the NSF Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA), external organizations, groups and individual stakeholders, and is responsible for ensuring credibility and consistency in EHR outreach and communication efforts; leads the planning, development, implementation, and tracking of internal and external communications activities related to the full range of EHR programs, outreach activities, and legislative issues to enhance understanding of EHR programs; analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of communications needs of the Directorate; and makes key recommendations concerning the best techniques to accomplish outreach goals.
