The incumbent serves as an Associate Producer in the Voice of Americas Central News Division. The incumbent is assigned to the Central News Production Unit. The incumbent may be assigned to assist any Correspondent within Central News domestically or overseas.

INTRODUCTION TO AGENCY
The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), an independent federal agency, is an exciting, multi cultural organization that encompasses all U.S. civilian international broadcasting. The BBG is comprised of the Voice of America, which delivers high quality, multimedia programming in 44 languages to audiences worldwide; the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Marti); the International Broadcasting Bureau, which provides transmission, administrative, and other support services; and three grantee organizations - Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa), and Radio Free Asia. The Full Performance Level: 11
Duties include but are not limited to:
--Does research, identifies appropriate experts for interviews, books interviews, conducts radio and TV interviews
--Covers and logs briefings and hearings to supplement correspondent reporting
--Does video research, logs feeds, identifies material germane to Central News coverage and reporting
--Uses a variety of news sources in order to assist Correspondent in producing TV, Radio or Web reports
--Develops stories, secures timely and topical interviews with appropriate experts and story subjects
--May be assigned to field produce shoots and edit news and feature packages
