Experience Requirement for the GS-03 Grade Level:
To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least six months of general experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. General experience is defined as: experience which has equipped me with the practical knowledge sufficient to understand the ways diseases and infections are transmitted and the importance of clean and sterile supplies to patient care.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, and abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledge of Sterilization Process.
Skill in Medical Supply Procedures.
Ability to Perform Administrative Procedures.
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid experience or volunteer work.

This position requires an immunization screening to determine inoculation for Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap), Hepatitis B series, Chickenpox titer and skin test screening for Tuberculosis (TB).
This position is identified as Weather Essential which may require the incumbent to report to work when inclement weather has curtailed operations (examples: facility/post closure, delayed reporting).
This position is subject shift work which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The shifts are 0645-1515, 1445-2315, 2315-0715 and weekends are rotated based on the shift the staff member works during the week.
Condition of Employment:
This position requires a pre-employment physical examination to ascertain your fitness for the position. Applicants must be able to lift up to 45 pounds or more and have the ability to push/pull racks containing instruments in excess of 45 pounds.
