The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

DUTIES:

Responsible for oversight, administration, and implementation of policies pertaining to stated medical affairs, and exercise of programs.  Coordinates with National Guard Bureau (NGB), the Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Tri-Care, U.S. Total Army Personnel Command (PERSCOM), Regional Medical Command, the Military Treatment Facilities, and the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) Liaison Offices located within the state.  Serves as the principle advisor to the Medical Directorate, as well as to general officer commanders, and personnel on eligibility for health care, sources of health care, medical aspects of physical readiness training and testing, Active Duty Medical Extensions, and LOD investigations.  Manages the funds associated with the health services account and provides an accounting for expenditures as required.  Responds to inquiries and various correspondence on health services issues and maintains and action file on all responses.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF A CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in administrative or technical work which demonstrates the applicant's knowledge of missions, originations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems.

 

Please address the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) in your resume:  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have 24 months of experience in the following:

ABILITY to analyze problems and present oral and written recommendations taking into consideration the wide range of factors and requirements which affect the management of the health care delivery system.

KNOWLEDGE of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of health care delivery systems.

ABILITY to analyze and recommend solutions to complicated problems.

ABILITY to develop and implement various policies and procedures used in the state medical programs.

KNOWLEDGE of the policies pertaining to various aspects and requirements of state medical affairs to implement programs such as the Human Immune-Deficiency Virus (HIV) Screening Program; Dental Panographic X-ray Program; Weight Control Program; and Over - 40 Medical Screening Program.


SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  A maximum of 12 months of the required experience my be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours.  The education must have been in fields directly related to the type of work of the position.
