JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
The New York District Headquarters office is located at 26 Federal Plaza in downtown Manhattan just minutes from Wall Street, Chinatown, Little Italy and SOHO. The building is also known as the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building. The building is surrounded by federal, city and state court and office buildings in the heart of lower Manhattan. The major intersection is Broadway and Duane Streets. Public transportation is available throughout the Tri-State areas.

IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC REQUIREMENT APPLICANT MUST MEET THE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.  Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; your resume must describe at least one year of equivalent specialized experience at the next lower grade level GS-11, in the federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job:  (1) Administering and enforcing the governing laws and/or  regulations of a regulatory program, (2) Preparing permits to ensure that regulated activities are not contrary to the public interest.  (3) Review permits to determine if environmental, social, and/or economic concerns are addressed.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills,abilities) in the following areas:
1. KNOWLEDGE OF THE FEDERAL REGULATORY PROGRAM LAWS, POLICIES, PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES
2. SKILL INTEGRATING TECHNICAL PERMITING AND ENFORCEMENT REQUIREMENTS WITH PROGRAM AND PROJECT BUSINESS PROCESSES
3. COMPETENCY IN WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMUNICATON
