The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidates education and experience and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed. SCHEDULE: M-F, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM. You may be required to provide service evenings and
weekends as needed.
Incumbent serves as the psychologist for the Veterans
Justice Outreach Program. Incumbent
provides outreach consultation services for veterans transitioning from
incarceration and collaborates with Social Work Service in building community
partnerships to assist these Veterans.
In this capacity, the incumbent also offers treatment in the form of
individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and psychological
assessment, and also provides consultation to other members of the mental
health team. Also serves on the
Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior Committee and completes
violence risk assessment as needed.
Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic
services including the use of psychological testing for patients within STVHCS
in areas of special interest/expertise related to forensic psychology.
Performs psychological evaluations for
individuals with mental health and medical disorders for purposes of diagnostic
clarification and treatment planning recommendations especially related to
forensic populations, including violence risk assessments. These evaluations employ a comprehensive diagnostic interview, review of available records,
collateral contact when available, as well as objective and cognitive tests
Provides a range of psychological
therapeutic interventions with individuals with mental health and medical
disorders utilizing empirically supported modalities when indicated.
Consults with and serves as a resource for
other professional personnel concerning the need for, evaluation of, and
development of psychological services in STVHCS.
May be asked to assist in the selection,
training, and supervision of staff at lower grade within assigned program
areas, Psychology Service, or STVHCS.
