In this position, one would serve as the Bureau of Fiscal Service expert in the area of the IMS database system and web-enabled and multi-platform DB2 UDB relational database system in the information and Security Services, Division of Middleware Engineering, Database Branch.

As a Lead IT Specialist , you will:
•Ability to lead and conduct studies of Public Debt information resources related to multiple platforms (including mainframe, client/server and web) with a view to improving information reliability by identifying areas of potential inconsistency or duplication.
•Ability to direct the work of IT and user analysts, and to coordinate the efforts of others toward the timely accomplishment of assigned projects.
•Lead the team in: identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization; making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensuring that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product.
•Provide technical guidance to systems analysts and database administrators in the use of techniques and procedures as applied to IMS database and DB2/UDB relational database design and implementation on mainframe, client/server, and web-enabled platforms.
•Provide 24 hour a day, 7 days a week problem solving response. Provide immediate response for on-line system problems during prime shift. Provide technical expertise to solve mainframe, client/server, and web-enabled platform problems related to the associated applications.
