AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

AREA I:  All New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) Technicians

AREA II:  All Members of the NJNG

 

If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training.   Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:  Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered.   Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank.   If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion.   Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only.   Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

MAJOR DUTIES:   Develops the AASF Quality Management Plan (QMP) that documents the management and operational policies and procedures to ensure work processes, products, or services satisfy expectations and quality standards.  Serves as quality assurance authority in the AASF.  Maintains the AASF master library.  Performs command directed quality inspections and special inspections for all aspects of aircraft and associated equipment.  Conducts formal training of quality assurance and quality compliance principles, procedures, techniques and skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDAPPLICANT MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF A CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Experience, education, or training involving planning, developing, or administering quality assurance programs (i.e., supporting the products concerned with the systematic prevention of defects and on-conformances, the identification of unsatisfactory trends and conditions, and the correction of factors which may contribute to defective items).  Experience using computer and automation systems. 

 

Please address the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) in your resume:  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have 24 months of experience, education or training, involving principles, techniques and accepted practices of quality assurance work, (i.e., the application of statistical sampling techniques sufficient to perform assignments or preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problems).

 

KNOWLEDGE of assigned aircraft, component systems, and support equipment to include aircraft specifications and standards.

 

SKILL and KNOWLEDGE in applying quality assurance to the evaluation and resolution of complex operating and quality issues.

 

KNOWLEDGE of the principles, concepts and methodology of quality assurance functional programs and skills in applying this knowledge to the planning and execution of aircraft maintenance production and processes.

 

KNOWLEDGE of aircraft inspections methods, techniques and practices to detect conditions, which may compromise quality and the ability to use precision measuring equipment, gauges and instrumentation for testing and special inspections as required.

 

SKILL in applying statistical analysis, sampling methods and techniques to determine compliance with the established standards.

 


SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  a maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience.  The education must have been directly related such as production management, business management statistics, industrial technology, engineering, or a discipline directly related to the specialization involved in the career pattern in the position to be filled.

 If using education to qualify for this position OR education is a MANDATORY requirement to meet qualifications, you MUST submit copies of college transcripts along with your application/resume prior to the closing date of the vacancy.  If selected for the position, prior to your appointment, you will be required to request certified official transcripts be sent directly from the college or university that identify each course, the college or university, semester or quarter hours earned and grade.
