The purpose of the Pathways Intern Program is a work experience that provides an opportunity for college students to pursue work that is relevant and beneficial to their academic studies. Work assignments are designed to assist the trainee who has a basic or advanced knowledge of scientific concepts and technology. Trainee adopts theory and/or good scientific practices to the assignments and justifies the approach taken, methodology, and conclusions to other members of the team or the supervisor. Assignments are part of a project and may involve developing information from a variety of sources. At the ND-02 level, trainee will be expected to carry out assignments recognizing problem areas and following instructions on how to resolve problems.
The program is an excellent opportunity for college graduate students to get an interesting, real-world experience in the field of engineering while contributing to the defense of our nation.
