This is a Department of the Navy Pathways Internship Program Opportunity and is located in the Trades Division, Marine Depot Maintenance Command (MDMC), Albany, Georgia.
This position has promotion potential to the WG-10 grade level. If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
· Assist in the planning and lay out of machining work to manufacture items for raw stock, castings, forgings, weldments, other fabrications or parts using machine tools.
· Assist Journeyman in the operation of numerical control machinist after first run of program, requiring extensive manual input and minor debugging.
· Learn how to select machine tools and attachments.
· Assist in making conventional parts and items from raw stock of metal, alloys and other materials.
