The mission of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.
The SECs Student Honors Program is a ten-week opportunity for graduate students (Non-legal students only) to become acquainted with the activities of the Federal Government and to gain hands-on experience in an operational office.
The SEC's 2014 Summer Student Honors Program will begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 and end on Friday, August 8, 2014.
Over the course of the ten-week program, students will work with Commission staff on projects particular to the specific Division or Office to which they are assigned. Students participate in seminars/workshops on various aspects of the federal securities laws.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
All students must be currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student. Please note, selection is based on many factors, including academic achievement, writing skills and experience, ability to reason independently and creatively, volunteer and work experience relating to the SECs work, commitment to its mission, extracurricular activities, and well-rounded background.
