This position is open to students who are currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Industrial Relations and must be scheduled to complete their graduate degree program within the next 12 months.

This position is being filled as an Internship in the excepted service under the Pathways Program.  The Pathways Program is designed to provide developmental work opportunities that exposes an Intern to the work of NLRB through a Federal internship.  After successfully completing your education and meeting NLRB work requirements, you may be converted to a term, career, or career conditional appointment.

Student Internship:

You will gain valuable professional, administrative, and/or technical on-the-job training and experience with the opportunity to explore future career possibilities with the NLRB.

The ideal candidate for this internship is an individual who has completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.  The candidate will assist a Labor Management Relations Examiner on routine phases of casehandling activities.  Assignments may involve assisting with interviewing witnesses; preparing affidavits as to their testimony; drafting reports on investigations; preparing election agreements and/or stipulations; assisting in conducting elections; excerpting data from respondent's books, production records and cost statements; and making job analyses to resolve questions pertinent to determinations regarding the appropriateness of the unit.

Candidates will be considered on the basis of the applicability of their educational achievements to this specific NLRB position.

Candidates will be assessed based solely on meeting the qualification requirements consistent with OPM's qualification standards applicable to the position being filled.  Candidates must be current students pursuing a degree or certificate in a qualifying education institution consistent with 5 CFR 362.102. The initial appointment for this position will be at the GS-5 grade level in accordance with the criteria below:

Minimum Requirement for GS-5: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

Students must be scheduled to complete their graduate degree program in Industrial Relations within the next 12 months.
