In order to qualify for the GS-05 grade level of this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing work that involves the support of accounting, budget, financial management or fiscal operations. Duties would include: reviewing documents for correct or missing information; maintaining paper and computerized files and records; entering data into automated systems; processing travel claims and vouchers; responding to routine requests for information; using established procedures to perform daily accounting operations.
Or you have completed four years education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
Or you have a combination of some specialized experience, but less than one year and have more than two years but less than four years of education. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
In order to qualify for the GS-06 grade level of this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing work that involves the support of accounting, budget, financial management or fiscal operations and requires knowledge of a body of standardized regulations, requirements, procedures, and operations associated with those functions. Duties would include: maintaining records and accounts using multiple automated systems; resolving recurring discrepancies and take corrective action; monitoring travel voucher submission; generating a variety of reports from various sources; using various steps and procedures to perform full range of accounting and financial management support duties.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
