This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, in Washington, D.C.

ASPE serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary of HHS on policy development and is responsible for major activities in the areas of policy coordination, legislative development, strategic planning, policy research, evaluation, and economic analysis. We are recruiting for positions in the Office of Human Services Policy; Office of Disability, Aging, and Long-Term Care Policy; Office of Health Policy; and the Office of Science and Data Policy. Major Duties:

The incumbent develops and conducts policy analysis and social science research;  develops social science research plans and conducts research and evaluation activities to inform decisions about program improvement, regulations, and/or policy development;  develops specifications, justifications, and analyses for legislation and/or regulations;  evaluates program and policy issues for health and human service programs and the delivery of effective services;  conductsdata analysis related to policy issues, legislation, and regulations; and communicates results from social science research and represents the organization at briefings and meetings.
